If you now browse to PageMaker's RSRC\U?ENGLSH\PPD4 folder, you should see in there the file Adist5.ppd - this the Distiller Postscript Printer Description, and is essential for Export Adobe PDF to work properly.
If Adist5.ppd is missing, click here to find how to locate it.
The Acrobat Style
Now load up PM7, and click File -> Printer Styles. If you
have just installed PM for the first time, all that should be
listed is your default windows printer. To create the Acrobat
style, you need to run the Export macro. To do this, click File
-> New and set the "Compose to Printer" as "Acrobat
Distiller". Create a test page with some text and a graphic
(TIFF, EPS or PSD - strictly no JPGs or metafiles) and save it
in a local folder.
Click File -> Export
-> Adobe PDF
. When the PDF
Options dialogue opens, at this stage don't worry about them,
just click Export. An explorer window will open asking what you
want to call the PDF and which folder you want to place it in.
Click Save.
The PDF will now open in AAR.
Alt+Tab back to PM7 and click File -> Printer Styles. The style "Acrobat" has now been created and will be used when creating future PDFs. It will look like this.
You have now installed Export -> Adobe PDF .
